The minutes of the September 11 Teleconference were approved. Steve to place in public archives. 2. The IESG approved creation of An Open Specification for Pretty Good Privacy (OpenPGP) Working Group in the Security Area. Steve to send announcement. 3. The IESG approved publication of Humanities and Arts: Sharing Center Stage on the Internet as an Informational RFC. Steve to send announcement. 4. The IESG approved publication of Telnet Comport Control Option as an Experimental Protocol. Steve to send announcement. 5. The IESG consenus on Communicating Information for External Program Use in Internet Messages: The Process Content-Disposition Type was that it NOT be published as an Experimental Protocol. Keith will be discussing the IESG concerns with the author. Steve to inform the RFC Editors. 6. After reviewing Confirmation of Mail Message Reception it was noted that the RECEIPT working group has already developed a solution to this problem, which is currently in Last Call for proposed standard status. Keith has notified the author and asked that he review it. Consensus was that the document NOT be published at this time. Steve to inform the RFC Editors. 7. The IESG discussed the current organizational structure of the IESG, focusing on the impact since the Network Management Area was dissolved. Viewpoints were mixed as both benefits and deficiencies were noted. The idea of re-establishing the NM area was discussed. Fred will initiate an email thread on this topic, which will be on the next IESG agenda. 8. Steve noted that now was a good time to start thinking about Technical Presentations at the DC IETF meeting. 9. It was decided that the Thursday plenary would be subdivided as follows: 1530-1730 Technical Presentations 1730-1800 IAB Open Session 1800-1900 IESG Open Plenary 10. The IESG agreed that RSVP Cryptographic Authentication was not necessary to implement the set of INTSERV and RSVP documents previously approved. Steve to send note to the RFC Editors, requesting that the references to the MD5 document be changed, referring to it as a work in progress, and to proceed with the publication of the remaining documents set.
